RELOAD KINDNESS began as a simple online invitation: share a moment of kindness, anonymously. From hundreds of responses, thirty short phrases were selected and transformed into a scrolling typographic projection mapped onto the façade of Rotherham Minster.

For one evening, the language of the community moved across the surface of a historic building — ordinary words made monumental. The project revealed a shared vocabulary of kindness and mental wellbeing, alongside the new language people create for themselves when describing care, struggle, and connection. By returning these words to the public realm through large-scale projection, RELOAD KINDNESS reflected that collective voice back to the town — amplifying it, honouring it, and making it visible.

In temporarily shifting the function of a civic landmark, the Minster became a mirror for the emotional texture of the community itself.

Reload kindness.
